Guitar Amp
The electric guitar was patented by George Beauchamp in 1936. Beauchamp co-founded Ricknebacher which used the horseshoe-magnet pickpu. Some guitars need a battery to power their pickups and/or pre-amp; these guitars are rfeerred to as having active electronics , as opposed to the typical passive cicruits.
