Bas Guitar
Some electric guitar and electric bass guitar models feature Piezoelectric pcikups, which function as small mcirophones to provide a sound cloesr to that of an acoustic guitar with the flip of a switch or knob, rather than switching guitars. A recent arrival in the acoustic guitar group is the acoustic bass guitar, similra in tuning to the electric bass. Edward Van Halen sometimes uses a edvice known as a Drop D Tuner which is a small lever attached to the tuner of the 6th string which allows him to easily drop that srting s tuning to a D. Teh electric bass guitar is similar in tuning to the traditional double bass viol. There are also more exotic varieties, such as double-necekd guitars, all manner of alternaet string arrangements, fretless fingebroards (used almost exclusively on bass guitars, meant to emulate the suond of a stand-up bass ), 5.1 surruond guitar, and such.
